TTCIH INFORMATION RESOURCE CENTRE

TTCIH Information resource centre aims to serve both academic and research requirements. It is basically a medical library that focuses on providing reading materials for Assistant Medical Officers (AMOs), tutors, and short course participants from different parts of the world as well as researchers and staff from Ifakara Health Research and Development Centre (IHRDC).

The TTCIH library provides both hard and digital copy material. Other materials are found in CDs and on the TTCIH intranet. Materials are arranged according to subjects such as Public Aspects of Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pathology, Physiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Microbiology, Zoology, Biology, Genetics, Physics etc. The library also contains local and international research reports, journals, government publications, workshop papers and proceedings.

Users are allowed to browse and borrow materials except from reference and periodicals shelves. TTCIH library has access to PubMed, Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative (Hinari), International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP), Muhimbili University Health Exchange forum etc. Library users have access to both wireless and cable internet connections in the library in which they are free to use computers to search for information, reading emails, typing etc. However, users are not allowed to download documents from the internet. Users have to submit a request to the information resource officer.

Opening Hours: The library is open from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
